Backlash
by
Penny Childs

DescriptionOlivia isn’t like other girls. Olivia can do things. She can stop a man’s heart with the touch of her finger. But being different comes at a price. Locked away in a remote government funded facility Olivia dreams of having her freedom. Of living outside the fence surrounding the facility. Of having a life. But these dreams, she knows, can never become reality. Unless she’s willing to kill.

Oliver isn’t like other boys. Oliver can do things. Or, should we say, he can make other people do things. Like his twin sister Olivia, he is locked away from society. It is much too dangerous to have him outside of the walls of the facility in which he lives. He dreams much the same as his sister, of living on the outside. He dreams of all the things he could make people do. All the terrible things. But to get out he will need Olivia to help him. And so far she’s resisted him. But he knows all he needs is one little chance. Just one little chance. Because unlike Olivia, he is more than willing to kill to get what he wants.

Lillian Stone lives by one simple rule. Never love someone. Because they will only wind up dead. She knows this from bitter experience. You see, Lillian isn’t like other women. Sticking to the rule has been easy for her over the last ten years. But one dog and one lightning strike will alter the course of her life forever.

Roen Cutler finds Lilly standing on her back deck in the pouring rain with lighting striking all around her. He wonders if she’s lost her mind. Fear for her draws him to her. And one touch will alter the course of his life as well.

Colorado Mandala
by
Brian Heffron

DescriptionIn the heady, hippie backdrop of Pike's Peak, Colorado, in the tumultuous 1970s, three souls swirl together in an explosive supernova. Michael is the flinty-eyed, volatile former Green Beret, whose tour in Vietnam has left unbridgeable chasms in his psyche and secrets that can never find light. Sarah is his fair-haired paramour, the ethereal Earth Mother widow of a fallen soldier and single mother to a ten-year-old son Stuart. Paul is a young wanderer, who is drawn in by Michael and soon bears the mantle of both minister and scourge. As they are drawn together, and torn apart, each is changed forever. And our hearts race along with them, through the rocky, raw Colorado terrain amidst the blood sport of man and beast.

For The Love Of Honey
by
Mira Kolar-Brown

DescriptionIs the death of a policeman's wife in any way related to the death of a retired gynaecologist just a couple of weeks earlier? Or, was the gynaecologist’s death an accident and someone later used the same MO to confuse the situation?

DI Simon Grant would have had his work cut out for him even if it wasn't for the uncomfortable fact that it is all happening practically on his doorstep, that one of the victims is a member of his extended family and the other one the wife of a colleague.

Trailer Trash, With a Girl's Name: Father Figures
by
Stacey Roberts

Of Weft and Weave
by
Clive S. Johnson

DescriptionWhen the castle realm of Dica again draws close to its final days, the ancient power long placed at its heart appears to be giving way to a new era, as the knowledge of the old founding fathers is methodically unearthed. It brings about a fresh mechanicking world, one seemingly bright with hope. All it lacks, to exploit these riches to the full, is knowledge long ago secreted to a distant colony, a place of safekeeping beyond the Gray Mountains.
