Wide Open Spaces
by Penny Childs

Kyle Bishop wants one thing and one thing only. To find the people who murdered Joe Macready and make sure they pay for what they did. After waiting two long years for an opportunity to present itself, Kyle finally has a way onto the ranch where Joe was killed. Here he will find himself surrounded by Joe’s family, who are ranchers by trade. But something far more sinister than ranching is going on at the Tanner Spread. And Kyle will stop at nothing to find out what is going on.

Hope Macready thought she would never get over the death of her husband Joe. But when her new handyman, Kyle, shows up at her front door things begin to change. She begins to feel again. Whether it’s lust, or love at first sight, doesn’t matter to her. Only feeling again matters. And the harder Kyle tries to push her away, the more interested she becomes.

Things are running smoothly at the Tanner Ranch. Until Hope overhears a conversation between her brothers and their accountant. A conversation which makes her believe she is being lied to about the finances of the ranch and that she is being used. Determined to find out what is going on behind her back, Hope launches her own investigation. And puts her own life in jeopardy. But she has one burning question she must have answered: Did anyone in her family have anything to do with Joe’s death?

Now Kyle has to decide who he can trust and who he can’t. Can Hope really be as innocent as she seems, or is she hiding something? Even as he asks himself this question, he knows he is falling for her. And now he’s left with an even more daunting task, he must determine if he can even trust his own heart.

Wide Open Spaces is the second book written for the Cowboys and Angels Series.

Salt City
by
Robert C. Fleet

DescriptionSyracuse, upstate New York. The “Salt City.” An apartment building on the edge of The Projects - and Anne Malloy dies, flying out of a sixth floor window, an apparent suicide, while Mark Cornell watches. Mark was there for a purpose, his part-time gig being to snap incriminating photos for a divorce lawyer who happily takes cases over the phone. Watching the apartment was Mark’s assignment. But this assignment has a problem: Mark learns that “Anne Malloy” had died months before, leaving behind a grieving husband. So who is this woman? It’s 1976, before cell phones, internet, and all the easy ways of satisfying curiosities, so Mark Cornell’s search for a name to give the victim makes him a foot soldier slogging personally through the facts. And, as those facts pile up, Mark discovers that he really shouldn't be playing detective, stumbling across the thin line between commerce and crime . . . in the Salt City.

The Lush Life
by
Peggy A. Edelheit

DescriptionMy name is Samantha. I’m a novelist who seems to fall into unusual mysteries and ends up becoming part of and writing about them. It has made me semi-famous for stirring up and getting into trouble. After selling their art gallery to someone else, Clay’s friends, Alicia and Chris Worth, decided to take their trip to Europe, but for a month to collect some personal art. Clay promised them I’d housesit their house, while he took on another case. Great...now I was dealing with real live fictional people that kept showing up at their front door! I've always dreamed of the lush life, but this...?

Death And Disappearances
by
Richard Smiraldi

DescriptionMoney, crime, death, unrequited love with a little voodoo in the mix - best characterize this book. When Montgomery Clark wakes up, two weeks after his wife’s disappearance, he finds a bump on the back of his head, a painting (done by his wife) missing, a note in his own handwriting which reads, “You killed my sister, now I’ll kill you,” and a dead sparrow in his dresser drawer. He realizes he must solve the mystery of the disappearance of his wife or face charges for her disappearance.

Talon, Come Fly with Me
by
Gigi Sedlmayer

DescriptionNine year old Matica lives in a remote village on a dry plateau in the Andes of Peru. She moved to Peru when she was five with Australian missionary and schoolteacher parents. Because Matica is trapped in the body of a two year old, her growth handicap has caused her to be rejected by the local people and they would not accept her into their community or allow her to play with the children.

With patience and a sense of adventure Matica befriends a pair of condors. A strong bond and love develops between them.

Matica rescues the egg the condors, Tamo and Tima, are trying to protect from poachers and nurtures it to hatching. The egg hatches on her 10th birthday and she names the new fledging Talon.

Many adventures unfold, including her finally being accepted into the local community. And something totally unexpected...

This is the beginning of many incredible adventures with Talon and Matica. It is a story of hope, determination and love.

Why?
by
Danny Kemp

DescriptionWhy? Is a painful recount of an intriguing web of despair, sex and an unreachable emotion for each of the main characters involved in the story; love. It is a fast paced tale of how one man's crippling injuries, caused by an unprovoked and vicious attack, ruins the lives of all around him including Terry Meadows, the nineteen year old boy who fell in love with his daughter Laura twenty-seven years before the opening of this novel. The perverse, interconnecting matrix in which Francis Hills, Laura's father, lives, destroys and distorts his daughter's image of life beyond repair. It is a sad tragedy, with an unexpected ending.
