Hot Roast Beef with Mustard
by James Paddock

"When you open a James Paddock novel you know you are going to be reading a well written book with great characters. Naomi has been mired in clycles of depression since the death of her parents. When she "accidently" aquires a large sum of money she flees her job and hits the road. Driving through the desert she berates herself for being so foolish and then the phone rings. A mysterious voice begins to have conversations with her and asks that she meet him at a diner. She would recognize him because he would be the cowboy with a black hat sitting in the back corner. Hot Roast Beef With Mustard is not only a good read it makes you question everything you thought you knew about Deja Vu. " Alliji "God's girl"

It’s a day like any other, except  for the money, and the hot roast beef with mustard, chocolate shake and hot apple pie at Charlie’s.

Naomi Wilcox’s life is in limbo before that Saturday when she finds herself driving too fast on a two lane backtop in Nevada, a bag stuffed with bundles of hundred dollar bills next to her, a new life ahead. And then there appears a truck, a bull and a slow talking Cowboy. And still she runs until there is nowhere to go except to Charlie’s where the Cowboy teaches her more than she would have ever imagined, that she has the power to make her own choices.

First Breath
by
Maureen Turner

DescriptionWhen James first fell to the floor of her bedroom, morphing from a drawing created by Jo during her teens, she was understandably terrified. Things like this just didn’t happen in small English market towns like Marlham. Only when she realised that he was equally panic-stricken did she decide to go against all her instincts of seeking help. Instead, she tried to make some sort of sense from his inconceivable appearance.

In trying to help him come to terms with his inception she set in motion a chain of events that would bind them together in a relationship of trust, love, and betrayal in equal measure.

The Persecution of Mildred Dunlap
by
Paulette Mahurin

DescriptionA women's Brokeback Mountain. The year was filled with memorable historical events: the Dreyfus Affair divided France; Booker T. Washington gave his Atlanta address; the United States expanded the effects of the Monroe Doctrine in South America; and Oscar Wilde was tried and convicted for gross indecency under Britain's recently passed law that made sex between males a criminal offense. When news of Wilde's conviction went out over telegraphs worldwide, it threw a small Nevada town into chaos. This is the story of what happened when the lives of its citizens were impacted the Wilde news. It is a chronicle of hatred and prejudice with all its unintended and devastating consequences, and how love and friendship bring strength and healing.
