Jetting Away
by Teri Heyer

Priscilla Alexander can no longer take the stress of her job as an advertising executive in San Francisco. In addition, her soon-to-be-divorced mother has permanently moved into Priscilla's small condo. To make matters worse, Priscilla recently split from her dead-end boyfriend. So, after eating a to-die-for hot-fudge sundae at Ghirardelli Square, she decides to get away. Her destination? She'll fly to Australia and venture into the Outback, alone. As Priscilla has come to realize, sometimes escape is the only option.

WARNING: "Jetting Away" is a short story prequel to "Outback Love." It can be read as a stand-alone, but I'm sure you'll enjoy Priscilla's further adventures in my contemporary romance novel, "Outback Love." "Jetting Away" is approximately 5,680 words in length. It's a short, fun read with a touch of romance. You may feel compelled to drink coffee, eat donuts, savor hot fudge sundaes and jet away. Best of all, it's Free!!!

Winter's Verdict
by
C. J. Peterson

DescriptionAfter graduation from high school in the small Oklahoma town of West Springs, Katie MacKenna decided to start her life over in Cleveland, Ohio. Taking into account her roommate and closest friend over the last couple of years in college, Jillian Shaw, was murdered by a serial rapist on campus just before break, Katie chose to stay on the nearly deserted campus instead of returning home to her abusive father. During break, she is approached with an opportunity that may affect her aspirations to be an FBI agent. In the meantime, she also builds a friendship with Giovanni, the mafia leader’s son. Things around her are confusing at best. Can she trust what is right before her when everything is not as it seems? Will her heart experience a winter thaw or will she forever be known as the Ice Queen?

The Last American Martyr
by
Tom Winton

DescriptionTom Soles was an unemployed doorman when he wrote a book that rocked the nation. Entitled Enough is Enough it revealed the truth about who was really at fault for the unfair spread of wealth in America. Working folks adored it; the upper echelon hated it. Either way it was viewed, it became a best seller and won him the Nobel Prize for Literature.

When we first meet Tom, he is using an assumed name and all the local townsfolk consider him a hermit. But after a visit from his mail carrier, Jake Snow, we begin to learn more about the man that Jake also had written off as a recluse. Jake has plenty of time and questions, and as he begins to get answers, the two men quickly strike up a close friendship. Then Tom gives Jake an opportunity. He offers to let him read a memoir he's been working on. Jake accepts, and we begin a story within a story.

What happened between writing that blockbuster book and Tom ending up as a hermit? Jake and the reader are both in for quite a ride! Part mystery, part romance, part drama--The Last American Martyr has it all.

The Haunting of Morgan Harrison
by
Alynia Rule

DescriptionIt was a trick of memory, nothing more; no hidden meaning or sign. He would not believe otherwise, could not accept any alternative. To do so would be dangerous. But Morgan Harrison was beginning to suspect that this building held memory. Somehow, it knew emotion.

And he never should have mentioned he was leaving.
