Why?
by Danny Kemp

Why? Is a painful recount of an intriguing web of despair, sex and an unreachable emotion for each of the main characters involved in the story; love. It is a fast paced tale of how one man's crippling injuries, caused by an unprovoked and vicious attack, ruins the lives of all around him including Terry Meadows, the nineteen year old boy who fell in love with his daughter Laura twenty-seven years before the opening of this novel. The perverse, interconnecting matrix in which Francis Hills, Laura's father, lives, destroys and distorts his daughter's image of life beyond repair. It is a sad tragedy, with an unexpected ending.

Danny Kemp draws his knowledge from forty-seven years of working with the public. First as a London police cadet then as a fully fledged police officer serving in Greenwich. He also owned a minicab business in south east London and was a tenant in three public houses in Kent where, whilst in one, he was arrested for attempted murder after an altercation with some previous customer led to a series of harassing actions against him, his wife and neighbours. He was given an absolute discharge when he appeared at court! He is now a licensed London taxi driver. He has worked on a thirteen week American comedy radio show, broadcast at primetime in both America and here in the United Kingdom. He now writes regular short stories, poems and articles on various themes for Female First, the UK's most popular online celebrity gossip and lifestyle magazine.

As Jebby tries to figure out if she is “losing it” or if past lives really do exist, they embark on a path of adventure and romance where lifetimes and cultures interweave in modern day Paris, Uzbekistan, and in the old Southwest. Jebby and Dodi live their unusually diverse and rich adventure and romance, surrounded by an international cast and superb musicians. At the same time Jebby discovers where the Hopi originated from, that death is not a finality, love transcends lifetimes, and music is eternal.

DescriptionMatt and Chuck Veal of West Creek County, Georgia are brothers who own a timber sawmill. Chuck, the younger, left the state in search of a career outside trees in the newspaper business, leaving his brother to run things for them. The story gets into high gear when Matt vanishes and Chuck has to return to Georgia and figure out what happened, who "done it" and why. The sub plot and paranormal touch comes in the name of Gail, an employee of the same paper where Chuck works. She has a strange vision triggered when touching an old coin but doesn't connect all the dots until hearing about Chuck's missing brother and more in depth details of the Veal family history. Matt's friends, after Chuck arrives back home, join with him and together they stir up a hornet's nest of trouble and closets full of family skeletons.
