Suspicious Minds
by Paul Bishop

1977, the one and only king of rock-n-roll, Elvis Presley, is taken from the world far too soon, but the legend will never die.

1996, Elvis impersonator Cole Ramsey, a young man with enough voice and a style to take him to the top, receives a very odd phone call from an Icon dead for almost twenty years . . . Cole has heard all the Elvis conspiracy rumors, but . . . it couldn't be . . .

Before he knows it, however, Cole’s life is turned upside down. He’s on the run and up to his ears in Elvises . . . are they all impersonators or is one of them hiding from deadly suspicious minds . . .

by
Jinx Schwartz

DescriptionHetta Coffey is a sassy Texan with a snazzy yacht and and she's not afraid to use it. She's a globe-trotting civil engineer with swath of failed multi-national affairs in her jet stream. Plying the San Francisco waterfront, trolling for triceps, her attention is snagged by a parade of passing yachts--especially their predominantly male skippers--and experiences a champagne-induced epiphany: If she had a boat, she could get a man. In spite of a spectacular ignorance of all things nautical, Hetta buys her dream boat, but shadowy stalker, an inconvenient body, and Hetta's own self-destructive foibles, give a whole new meaning to the phrase "sink or swim!"

Big Lake Lynching

Nick Russell

Remembering Death
by
James Paddock

DescriptionLester Winters, in early stages of Alzheimer's, submits to an experimental procedure (a pacemaker for his brain) to restore his memory. He first recalls a dead woman who, it is assumed by his wife, is his mother from years past. As weeks go by and Lester's 'pacemaker' does its job, he recalls that it is Caroline who is dead, not his mother. His wife decides that it'd be prudent to hire an attorney to help find the answers. The attorney hires Parker DuPont, who soon discovers that there is a lot more to Lester's memory than just a dead woman by the name of Caroline. He remembers where she is buried. He also remembers the face of the killer and is scared into silence that the killer remembers him.
